Progressive Old Vandals congratulate President elect John Dramani Mahama

The leadership of the Coalition of Progressive Old Vandals had, on behalf of the vandal fraternity of the University of Ghana, extended a congratulatory message to the President elect, John Dramani Mahama.

In a statement co-signed by Mr Joshua Laari, Coordinator of the coalition and Mr Elvis Dan-Sakyi, Deputy Coordinator, and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Sunday, the coalition expressed the hope that President Mahama would use his august office to make Ghana a better place for all.

“Like we have always contended and would forever contend as a coalition, given the record of President John Dramani Mahama as tried and tested, we are with the least of doubt that he will deliver with all alacrity the good promises he has made to the good people of Ghana.

“He won on promises emanating from a campaign manifesto based on which the true Ghanaian has chosen to entrust the nation into his care,” it said.

The coalition was of the conviction that President Mahama would pursue policies that are issues-based to ensure equity, social justice and truthful governance, the statement said.

As a product of the Commonwealth Hall noted for inculcating in its students the tenets of positive vandalism; vivaciousness, affability, neighborliness, dynamism, altruism and loyalty, President Mahama would deliver to the satisfaction of every Ghanaian, it said.

The statement said: “We also would like to use this platform to thank and congratulate the entire Ghanaian community for exhibiting the highest sense of maturity and decorum before, during and after the election.

“It is the belief of the coalition that all of us as Ghanaians with a common destiny would forego all the elements that stand to divide us as a nation. But hold on to the very ones that reflect on getting our oils into reigniting the wheels that would seek to propel our one and only country to its appropriate destined position in the realms of the new global village”.

The coalition also urged vandals, associate vandals and all who share in the spirit and letter of being each other’s keeper to come on board to give President Mahama the requisite push and support that would give him all the energies, knack and resources, both human and capital, to be able to live the Ghanaian dream.
