The Coalition of Concerned Members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called on the party's leadership to address the ongoing conflict between Mr. George Oti Bonsu, a financier of the party, and Mr. Abu Ramadan.
On Sunday, April 7, 2024, a significant demolition exercise took place at Adjiringanor near East Legon in Accra, targeting 10 houses owned by Mr. Oti Bonsu.
During a press conference at the demolition site on April 24, 2024, Mr. Oti Bonsu alleged that the family of the Second Lady, Samira Bawumia, orchestrated the demolition under the directive of her brother, Mr. Abu Ramadan. He claimed that the demolished properties cost him $3.5 million to build.
In a petition addressed to the General Secretary, the coalition expressed concern that such severe actions against a key party financier could discourage support from ordinary party members and foot soldiers.
They emphasized the urgency of resolving the dispute as the party prepares for upcoming elections, highlighting the need for intellectual, financial, physical, and logistical support from all members.
