Outspoken National Democratic Congress (NDC) stalwart in the Ashanti Region, Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh has endorsed calls for the expulsion former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Martin Amidu from the party.

“Let us learn something from what the NPP did. When it got to time for them to suspend some persons, they did that, a whole National Chairman of their party was suspended. Whether it was good or bad it helped their course”, he stated on Accra-based Okay FM.

Mr Yamoah Ponkoh said if it emerges that Mr Martin Martin has flouted some rules in the party he must be sanctioned through suspension and if possible expelled because he is just a fraction.

He describes former President Jerry John Rawlings and Mr Amidu as birds of the same feather who are seeking nothing short of the downfall of the party in the pursuit of their parochial interests.

“If we are not careful Martin Amidu and Rawlings will collapse the party before 2020. They are birds of the same feathers who want to scuttle things in the party before 2020”, he stressed.

“Rawlings has insulted us enough with corruption since the era of President Mills through to President Mahama…for 8 good years we have allowed ourselves to be insulted enough”, the former Ejisu-Juaben Municipal Chief Executive said on Okay Fm.

“When we were campaigning, he was personally campaigning against the party and we lost. He contributed heavily to the disgraceful defeat of the party. We have nowhere to go again and we must fight back which has started with Dr Valarie Sawyer,” he added.
