Daily Guide has gathered that Mohammed Adam Baantima Samba, the Northern Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has teamed up with his predecessor outspoken Daniel Bugri Naabu to improve the fortunes of the party in the region.

The collaboration follows the appointment of Mr Bugri Naabu as the regional representative of the NPP in the National Executive Council.

According to Chairman Samba, Bugri Naabu, who is still a major asset for the party, has enough knowledge on the running of the affairs of the party in the region.

“It’s therefore in the right direction to create room for the former chairman to contribute to the growth of the party in the region.”

Chairman Samba indicated that the party would secure 22 seats out of 31 in the region for the NPP through the hard work of the regional executives.

Chairman Samba attributed the growth of the party in the Northern Region to the dedication of Bugri Naabu.

“Even his political opponents will acknowledge him for his brevity, vision, no-nonsense approach and grasp of issues, charisma and kindness.’

The Northern Regional Communications Director, Mohammed Issah, told DAILY GUIDE that the collaboration between Bugri Naabu and Chairman Samba should worry the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), especially in the Northern Region.

He indicated that since Chairman Samba assumed office, he has silently been building a strong force to retain power in 2020.

Mr. Issah debunked allegations that the two men were at loggerheads, adding that the two officials have been on good terms for a very long time.

He added that although they disagreed on some issues, there was nothing personal.

Mr Issah, therefore, called on the supporters of two party stalwarts to come together to secure victory for the party in the next general elections.

Minutes after the appointment letter was handed over to Bugri Naabu, he acknowledged the efforts of his successor in fostering unity in the party at the regional level.

He pledged to work with the regional executives in order to make the party formidable in the region to secure victory for the party in next general elections.
