Political analyst William Owusu Ansah, Executive Director for Strategic Volunteers for Fairness and Transparent Elections, has advised Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to seek guidance from former President John Agyekum Kufuor and other senior officials of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He expressed concern that the perception of arrogance and disrespect attributed to Dr. Prempeh could impact both him and his party.

He has, therefore, encouraged Dr. Prempeh to seek counsel from the former president and other seasoned party officials who have held political office.

This, he noted, would significantly enhance his public image and address the negative perceptions some Ghanaians hold about him.

Speaking on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Ansah remarked that selecting NAPO, as he is affectionately known, is a strategic move that could secure additional votes for the presidential candidate.

He acknowledged that no one is perfect and that we all have flaws, but emphasized that the running mate should endeavor to reshape his public persona.

"NAPO should reach out to senior party officials. I am aware of his strong rapport with former President John Agyekum Kufuor.

"He should seek guidance from him. Serving as Education Minister is an enormous and challenging role. The responsibilities are vast, and he performed admirably. Nonetheless, he is human and has his shortcomings.

"He should, however, be cautious with his utterances. Moving forward, he needs to be considerate of his interpersonal relationships and his manner of speaking.

"The comments he made regarding the recent energy crisis were unfortunate. He could have articulated his concerns more effectively. As someone who was anticipated to be chosen as the running mate, one ought to exhibit discipline and refrain from behaviors that could be perceived as arrogant," he stated.

Ansah also mentioned that the introduction of NAPO in the Ashanti Region was a positive step, particularly since it is a stronghold for the party.
