Sir John confesses at last

After shouting roundly from roof-tops that the NPP and not the NDC won the 2012 elections, the General-Secretary of the opposition NPP, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, in what amounts to a confession, affirmed that the NDC actually won the 2012 General elections.

Speaking to Alhassan S. Suhuyini during the newspaper review segment of Radio Gold’s ‘Morning Power Drive’, Owusu Afriyie, who is also known as Sir John, insinuated clearly that the NDC won the 2012 elections squarely and fairly contrary to what his party had claimed and for which it went to the Supreme Court with a petition seeking to overturn the declaration of President Mahama and the NDC as victors.

Sir John made the confession while trying to explain to Suhuyini that Kennedy Agyapong carries out his threat to quit the NPP and forms his own political party if the current National Executive Members are retained in office in March, the NPP will win 2016.

Citing the quitting of the NDC by the party’s Matriarch, Mrs. Rawlings, just before the 2012 elections to form her own political party,

Sir John said the NDC, minus Mrs. Rawlings, won the 2012 elections.

This tacit admission by the General Secretary of the NPP that the NDC won the 2012 elections (even without Mrs. Rawlings) is quiet revealing especially as some elements within the opposition party are still in a state of denial, claiming the NDC did not win the election even after the Supreme Court threw out their petition.
