Hopeson Adorye, Director of Special Duties for the Movement for Change, has criticized some leaders within the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for what he referred to as being deceived by certain influential figures in the party.

Adorye expressed his disappointment, claiming that these leaders have been misguided to support a particular candidate, a decision he believes they will soon regret.

He emphasized that the Ashanti leaders were swayed into making a political choice that did not align with the traditional strength and influence of the Ashanti people.

"Certain people have deceived the leadership of the NPP in the Ashanti region to toe a certain line and support a particular candidate, and by the time they realize, they will deeply regret it,"oyerepaonline.com quoted him to have said in an interview on Oyerepa TV.

Highlighting the significance of the Ashanti tribe in Ghana, Adorye questioned why such a powerful and traditionally influential group would allow themselves to be misled in political matters.

“Which tribe is powerful in the country? The Ashantis are powerful traditionally, so definitely they don't want them to be powerful in politics as well.

“They should think about it.”

Reflecting on the cultural hierarchy, Adorye remarked, "Which kingdom is more powerful than the Ashanti kingdom? I am an Ewe, but I can't compare the Anlo kingdom to that of the Ashanti.

“Those leaders who never thought about their actions should sit down and rethink," he added.
