Speak to your legacy and stop taking credit for Rawlings and Mills' policies – Koku Anyidoho takes on Mahama

Koku Anyidoho, the former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has criticized former President John Dramani Mahama, urging him to focus on his legacies rather than taking credit for the achievements of his predecessors.

Anyidoho's remarks come in the wake of Mahama's recent statements highlighting the contributions of past NDC leaders.

In a series of social media posts, Anyidoho expressed discontent with Mahama, the current NDC flagbearer. He accused him of failing to honour the memories of former Presidents John Jerry Rawlings and John Evans Atta Mills but leveraging their legacies for his political advantage.

"With due respect sir, since you have chosen not to honour the memory of Prez Rawlings & Prez Mills, please don't hide behind their solid legacies. Please speak to your legacy of withdrawing teacher & nursing trainee allowances, etc - telling them you will never restore it," Anyidoho stated.

He further questioned Mahama's motives, suggesting that the former president is seeking refuge in the accomplishments of Rawlings and Mills amidst political pressure.

"God is good ooo!!! Today, JM is looking for refuge, so he is remembering the good works of Rawlings & Atta-Mills. I have been hated just because I refuse to stop eulogizing J.J. & Prof. Vindication lies in the womb of time. Where is his JM's green book? NDC is bigger than JM," Anyidoho added.

Anyidoho's criticism extended to Mahama's recent media engagement on Saturday, July 6, 2024, where he referenced social intervention programs initiated by Rawlings and Mills.

Mahama cited Rawlings' introduction of the District Assembly Common Fund and the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) while crediting Mills for significant improvements in sanitation and water provision.

"Today, he is hot, so he is remembering the solid foundations Rawlings & Atta-Mills laid for the NDC. Has he not been posturing as if he is the alpha & omega of the NDC? He should stop hiding behind the social intervention policies of his predecessors & tell us his own," Anyidoho remarked.
