Spio endorses Mahama's second term bid

A former presidential aspirant of the governing party, Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, has endorsed President John Mahama’s second term aspirations.

The new Minister of Trade and Industries, who is serving under Mahama, said, during his swearing-in ceremony Thursday, at the Flagstaff House, by the President, that he will do all he can to ensure the President succeeds in the remainder of his first term while awaiting his second term.

“…I can assure you that in the somewhat limited time that we have in this first term under your leadership, while awaiting the second term under your leadership Mr President, we shall do what we can, to advance fully, the agenda that you set, so that the people of Ghana can see that they are indeed living under a better Ghana agenda”, the former Communication and Education Minister vowed.

Spio-Garbrah said, he will work, together with all other ministries, agencies and departments, “…to assure the efficiency of the clearance system as well as to ensure that Ghana does not import more than it exports if it’s possible”.

“That structural imbalance has been in the economy for a long time and as His Excellency has said, we must work collectively to try and address that”, the former CEO of the Commonwealth Telecommunication Organisation (CTO) said.
