Edmund Kyei is daring Koku Anyidoho to sue Dr Mahamudu Bawumia over the “fake” Togolese voters register he used as evidence to support his claim that there were foreigners on Ghana’s electoral roll.
According to the NPP communicator, the party is irked by Koku Anyidoho’s incessant complaints and threats of taking legal action against Dr Bawumia.
The vice presidential candidate of the NPP, Bawumia last year produced a document, which he said, was a copy of the Togolese register and claimed that having used the biometric facial recognition technology, it was realized that there were 76,000 persons who existed on Ghana’s register of voters and that of Togo.
But, the NDC challenged the NPP to submit those names to the Electoral Commission so they could be deleted from Ghana’s register.
Mr Anyidoho argues that Dr Bawumia’s failure to produce the said document constitutes a criminal offence under Section 251 of Act 29 of the Criminal Offences Act 1960, hence his resolve to proceed to court.
Speaking in an interview with Ghanasempanews.com Mr Kyei adamantly defended the NPP’s position insisting that Ghana’s electoral roll was still fraught with names of aliens.
“Koko Anyidoho and his cohorts have been threatening frivolous lawsuits for their entire life, but have never stand in front of any judge before, let alone, suing a noble man like Dr Bawumia,” Mr Kyei furiously stated.
He says the NDC’s deputy general secretary is making empty threats just to satisfy his bloated ego and political paymasters.
“This is a man who goes round to make false, and defamatory statements about his own party executives, so what would you expect? He is just a rabble-rouser,” Mr Kyei stressed.
