Takoradi, Nov, 11 GNA - The Effia-Kwesiministim and Takoradi Sub-Metropolitan office of the Electoral Commission (EC), has moved to a new location, 12 days after a Ghana News Agency report revealed the poor state of offices.

The offices, which were formerly located in the premises of the Takoradi Veterans Association of Ghana (VAG), have now been moved to the Western Regional offices of the Ghana Highway Authority (GHA). The old premises does not have its own furniture but uses three desks and five chairs belonging to the Ghana High Authority. stand and queue for hours before being attended to. The two offices, which have poor ventilation, have no ceiling fans and place to store electoral materials.

Mrs Banahene, the Metropolitan Director of the EC in an interview thanked the GNA for its publication and pledged to work hard to ensure that the entire electoral process was smooth and fair to the various political parties.

She noted that though their present location was better, the rooms allocated to them were too small and made their operations difficult and less friendly to the numerous voters who visit the EC office. 11 Nov. 08
