Deputy Director of Elections for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mahdi Jibril, has expressed confidence that the party’s presidential candidate, former President John Dramani Mahama, will be declared the winner after the December 7 election.
He said the party remains ready and will not fail Ghanaians in the upcoming elections.
Speaking on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he said the eagle eye of the party has prevented several schemes aimed at rigging the elections.
He claimed that the party has in place measures that will prevent the ruling government from overturning the will of the people.
"I can assure you that come December 7, Insha Allah, the votes would be protected, secured, and declared in favour of John Mahama," he said.
Meanwhile, he claims that Jean Mensa, the EC Chairperson, voted for the ruling New Patriotic Party.
He told the host that she is a die-hard NPP supporter and that her Facebook posts and comments reveal her NPP affiliation.
He stated that she should not have voted in order to avoid speculation about her.
