Dr. Hannah Louisa Bissiw, a former deputy minister of Food and Agriculture and also a former member of parliament of Tano South constituency in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana in the erstwhile John Dramani Mahama’s led National Democratic Congress administration, shockingly, has said there is no vigilante group in NDC, rather internal security to protect the NDC.

She made this known on the 'Susubiribi' morning show on Radio1 FM, when the host Captain Kofi Owusu asked of her views on the appeal by the commissioner of National Commission for Civic Education, NCCE, to the political parties in the country to disband their vigilante groups.

According to the NDC women organizer aspirant, vigilante groups are attributed to brutalities and vandalism and can only be found in the ruling New Patriotic Party NPP but not the opposition National Democratic Congress, NDC.

She was quick to say that the Dragons, Hawks and Lions in the NDC are just internal security guards set up for the purpose of the party and they do not engage in hooliganism and further advocates for another group to be called the Pythons.

Dr. Bissiw added that if anyone attempts to call the groups in the NDC vigilante groups then all security personnel in the country should also be called vigilante groups.

She insisted that NDC will not dissolve the internal security for they are there to protect them.

Dr. Hannah Bissiw is aspiring to become the women organizer of NDC in their upcoming National Congress.
