There is hope for NDC in 2008 - Nti-Fordjour

Fomena (Ash), Nov 7, GNA - Mr Emmanuel Nti-Fordjour, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has said "there is hope for the party in 2008".

He has, however, urged the members of the party not to feel complacent but to remain focused and work towards achieving that hope. Mr Nti-Fordjour, who was addressing the delegates' congress of the Fomena constituency of the party at Fomena on Sunday, said the party was strong in the constituency despite the feeling some people had that the party had collapsed.

The congress elected a 15-member executive with Mr Samuel Pinkrah, a teacher as the Chairman.

Other elected executive were Mr Twumasi Ankrah, First Vice-Chairman, Madam Grace Ampofo, Second Vice Chairman, Mr Kwakye Assiamah, Secretary, Mr Oppong Tuffour, Deputy Secretary and Mr James Bimpong, Organiser.

The rest were Mr Samuel K. Ampadu, Deputy Organiser, Madam Florence Peprah, Women's Organizer, Mr Akwasi Assuming, Youth Organizer, Mr Yaw Sobeng, Deputy Youth Organizer, Mr Hayford Dame, Propaganda Secretary, Madam Yaa Anokyewaah, the Treasurer. Mr Nti-Fordjour called for unity, love and understanding amongst the party members.

Mr Pinkrah expressed satisfaction about the conduct of the congress, stressing that, "the congress and the election of the executives and pledged to work to redeem the low morale of the party in the constituency.
