Tapa-Abotoase (V/R), Nov. 16, GNA - Three out of five traditional areas forming the Biakoye District, have threatened to boycott the December District Level Election if government fails to site a capital for the district.
The traditional areas are Apisokubi, Tapa and Bowiri. In a petition to Government, the Tapa Youth Association, representing the interest of the areas, regretted that since the creation of the District three years ago, no development had taken place because it lacked a capital. The Petition appealed to President Atta Mills to personally intervene to expedite action on the inauguration of the Assembly, adding that it should be done with the establishment of the capital at an appropriate and accessible place.
The petitioners complained that though the Biakoye District Assembly had not been inaugurated, an office at Nkonya Ahenkro was being manned by a District Coordinating Director. They asked how the monies collected in the district were kept and advised that special accounts be operated before a headquarters of Biakoye District Assembly was established. Worawora and Nkonya are the two other traditional areas forming the Biakoye District Assembly. 16 Nov. 10
