To Prof. Akosa: Support the CPP with Positive Messages

The recent findings by the Youth for Nduom Exploratory Committee have revealed essentially, challenges of the CPP and also recommended positive remedies to strengthen the party. All true CPPists have accepted this and are soberly considering the recommendations in order to help make the party much stronger before 2012 general elections.

As stated right from the beginning, the research methods included, the use of questionnaires, interviews, monitoring of media reactions, on-line and focused group discussions. As is the case with public projects of this type, it is only right to inform the public so that we will be able to generate feedback from them.

We would like to inform Professor Akosa and those who think like him, that the use of exploratory committees is nothing new in politics. We are setting a new trend in Ghana which has been used successfully elsewhere. Many CPP people across the country are proud of what we are doing. We are of the view that party members must encourage each other and that we should all encourage each other, work together and combine energies to gain credibility with the general public. The CPP has suffered enough from attempts to personalize everything and sow discord. When anyone of us loses, the party as a whole suffers.

We would like to take advantage of this opportunity to suggest to Professor Akosa and other leading members of the CPP to support the party and its members with positive messages and suggestions. Even more important it would help if all leading members could help to organize the CPP in their home constituencies/regions and where they live/work.

We would also like to suggest that should any member of the CPP have any issue with our effort to prepare for the 2012 general elections, they should use internal mechanisms that are available within the party.

We wish to state once again that the committee’s work was to find out what had caused the failure of the CPP and Dr. Nduom in the 2008 elections, determine if he should contest for President in 2012 or not and to find out which measures ought to be put in place to ensure victory for CPP in 2012.

Thank you.
