The United Front Party (UFP), has expressed its disapproval of the death of Mr Adams Mahama, the Upper East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
A statement signed by Nana Kusi-Poku Listowell, the General Secretary of the UFP and copied the Ghana News Agency said the party had observed with immense shock, the loss of Adams Mahama, whose sudden death occurred after a gruesome acid attack on him on Wednesday.
“We passionately express disapproval of the criminal act that extremely impedes the hard won reputation of Ghana’s democracy in Africa,” it said.
The UFP called on the Ghana Police Service to step up investigation into the dreadful crime and bring the perpetrators to book and also curb such crimes.
The UFP also advised the executives of the NPP “to keep calm in this sorrowful moment,” and urged them to be mindful of their utterances to help safeguard national security.
The UFP expressed its condolences to the late Adams Mahama’s family, adding that, “We share your grief and sadness in this difficult period and pray for Allah’s protection.”
