The Founder and Leader of the United Front Party (UFP), Nana Agyenim Boateng, popularly known as ‘Gyataba’, has thrown his support behind the Vice President and the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), ahead of the December 7 polls.

The outspoken youth leader announced his support for the Vice President’s candidature at a colourful and well-attended occasion cum press conference organized in Kumasi on Wednesday.

He says his decision is based on the national interest and his willingness to see the country consolidate its gains over the last seven years.

Surrounded by his party executives and more than 1,000 of his supporters, Nana Agyenim Boateng boldly confessed that there is no point challenging the ruling party and the Vice President in the upcoming contest, considering the huge performance of the current government.

According to the UFP Leader, he came to a firm conclusion after visiting the nooks and crannies of this country to gather signatures for his presidential ambition that no government in recent times has performed more than President Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

“I have gone around the country, and I have seen that there is no point contesting this year’s elections because it’s a foregone conclusion for the NPP and Dr. Bawumia,” he noted.

Gyataba, who was once a strong critic of the NPP and President Akufo-Addo, having resigned from the party to form the UFP in 2012, stated that he was surprised at the unprecedented achievements in the areas of road infrastructure, schools, and other social interventions dotted across the country under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo and his Vice President.

Cautioning that any attempt to change the course of leadership could spell doom for Ghana, the UFP Leader urged Ghanaians not to allow the NDC and former President Mahama to hoodwink them into thinking that this government has not performed well.

“I have come to the firm conclusion that there is no point contesting this election because truly speaking, this administration has really performed a lot in the areas of social and economic development,” he emphasized.

Gyataba averred that the NPP would have itself to blame if it fails to communicate its achievements and show the good people of Ghana all the numerous things they have done since they assumed office in 2017.

Meanwhile, the founder of the UFP has asked all his supporters across the country to channel their energies towards working for the Vice President and the NPP.
