Unite for victory - NPP supporters urged

Accra, Aug 20, GNA - Mrs Gladys Dedey Mann, Dadekotopn Constituency Chairperson of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called for unity within the rank and file of the party to ensure victory in the 2008 general elections.

Addressing members and supporters of the NPP at a meeting at La to plan strategies for the party, she noted that to wrestle the seat back in the forthcoming election would not be an easy task and urged them to close their ranks and to leave no stone unturned in their effort to attract more sympathisers. Mrs Mann launching a programme she dubbed, "Victory 2008" stressed the need to revive all the polling station cells to start house-to-house campaigns.

She advised women to strive to win seats in the forthcoming District Level election to become Assembly and Unit Committee members to articulate their views and to ensure female participation in decision-making and implementation. Mr John Tetteh, Constituency Treasurer, commended them for their dedication and advised the supporters and members to re-new their commitment to the party since the NPP would deliver on its campaign promises.

He said that through the efforts of the Executives, the Party's office had been refurbished and provided with a computer, a conference room and a security office among other facilities at a cost of 23 million cedis.

The Treasurer appealed to all card bearing members to pay their dues and asked supporters to register to meet their financial commitments to the NPP to facilitate party organisation. Dr Kofi Apraku Konadu, an aspiring flag-bearer of the party, Niibi Ayibonte, former MP for the Odododiodioo Constituency and Mr Robertson Torto Laryea, the NPP candidate for Dadekotopon in the 2004 Election, also addressed the meeting
