Vote Out The Arrogant NPP Govt - Atta Mills Declares

....As he Continues Tour of Weija

Professor JEA Mills on Wednesday continued his tour of the Weija constituency and spent several hours walking through the communities of Mallam, old and new Gbawe, Bortianor and other adjoining environs.

The NDC candidate used the opportunity to interact with thousands of ordinary people along the streets, homes, markets, stores, trotro stations, chop bars, schools, etc.

The tour also included visits and courtesy calls on traditional authorities and key opinion leaders in the various communities.

The presence of Prof Mills attracted throngs of people who scrambled to greet and interact with him. As Prof Mills and his team went along the packed streets, vehicles tooted their horns, passengers frantically waved and people spontaneously came out of their homes to catch a glimpse of the former vice President.

The NDC leader used the occasion to urge the people not to despair even though living conditions under the NPP have become impossible.

"Do not despair because in December 2008, hope will be restored," Prof Mills said again and again.

He castigated the Kufuor led government for being so arrogant in the face of the crisis facing the people.

"Ghanaians deserve a leader who will tell them the truth. A leader who is honest and humble. They do not deserve the current crop of leaders who are so arrogant and so full of lies."

The former Vice president expressed utter dismay that the Kufuor led NPP even in the face of the paralyzing energy crisis, still refuses to tell the people the truth.

In his view, the fact that President Kufuor looked the people in the eye and deliberately lied that within two weeks the energy crisis would be mitigated indicates the extent to which the NPP has very little respect for the sensibilities and the intelligence of the people.

Prof Mills reminded the people that the NPP rode to power on the wings of lies and empty promises. But their true insensitive nature is now there for all to see.

Making a reference to the crippling energy crisis, the water crisis, the soaring price of cement and the sheer difficulty by the ordinary people to keep body and soul together, Prof Mills queried: "Is this the positive change they promised you?"

He expressed sadness that under the aegis of property owning democracy, the current crop of leaders are busy taking care of themselves, their families and their cronies and allowing the ordinary people who placed them at the top to wither away.

"You have seen the nature of the so called positive change they promised you. It is now time for you to rally behind us and support us so that we can bring you true meaningful and profitable change," Prof Mills asserted confidently.

"Vote out selfishness, greed, lies and arrogance and usher in a government that will uphold honesty, transparency, humility and selflessness."
