Vote for NPP for development, says Mr Ghartey

Fijai (W/R), Nov 15, GNA - Mr Joe Ghartey, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Essikadu-Ketan, at the weekend appealed to the electorate not to vote for Professor John Evans Atta Mills, National Democratic Party Presidential Candidate, in the forthcoming elections. Speaking at a rally at Fijai, near Sekondi, he said voting for Prof Mills meant voting for Former President Jerry John Rawlings. He said Former President Rawlings wanted to indirectly rule the country through Prof Mills "that is why he is busily touring the country campaigning.

"Ghana does not want to go back to the days of hardship during the NDC government when children carried their desk to school everyday." Papa Mensah, Assistant Secretary of the Sekondi Constituency of the NPP, said the country's problems were caused by the NDC.

"The NDC closed down many businesses and mismanaged the economy, causing unemployment and high inflation rate."

He said due to the prudent economic policies of the NPP, the inflation rate had gone down and the youth were being trained in employable skills.
