The Member of Parliament for Takoradi Constituency, Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah, has advised members of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to vote massively for aspirants who supported and were in the thick of affairs when the party was in opposition some eight years ago
The NPP opened its nominations for Presidential and Parliamentary primaries from January 20 to February 20, 2020 in constituencies where it has sitting Members of Parliament
In the Western Region, one of the constituencies which is being keenly contested is the Takoradi Constituency.
All the four candidates who picked their forms have filed to contest the primaries.
Speaking to a cross-section of journalists in Takoradi after filling his nomination to seek a fourth term to represent the constituency in parliament Mr. Darko Mensah said suddenly people who neglected the NPP during their opposition days have now found their voice and want to reap what they have not sow
“This contest is not about lies, is not about people who have benefited from me and walking around and behaving the know everything, why did they run away when the party was in opposition, they were making money at that time and refused to invest the money into the part or did help us to build our constituency, they only invest into the party when it only benefits them, he queried
Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah accompanied by hundreds of party supporters, clad in all-white apparel (Jalaba) hinted the delegates to check the background of some of the aspirants because some of them have criminal records he though he failed to name the said aspirants when asked by our reporter.
