Former National Democratic Congress MP for Sagnarigu Constituency, Alhassan Bashir Alhassan (A.B.A) Fuseini, has bemoaned what he describes as an alliance between the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana.

According to the former MP, the NPP, having perceived its impending defeat due to their poor performance, is colluding with the EC to steal the ballot.

“We are here to protect the constitution of Ghana and to protect the supreme interest and aspirations of the good people of this country. The NPP has been rejected by Ghanaians. Today, there is no sane Ghanaian anywhere who wants to see the NPP. So they are looking for ways to form an unholy alliance to steal the ballot,” he told GhanaWeb TV’s George Ayisi during the NDC’s Enough is Enough protest.

The MP, famous for his use of parables, was quick to send a message to the NPP and the EC, emphasizing that the NPP’s quest for retaining power is a lost cause while entreating the EC to ensure a clear voter roll for the election.

“NPP is like a house that has fallen; you don’t ask whether the roof is still standing. NPP is like a man who has died in the market; you don’t need to announce his funeral,” he said.

“You don’t make a hyena the caretaker of your clan; he will eat all the animals,” he further directed at the EC.

The NDC on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, held a protest to demand an independent forensic audit of the 2024 voter register.

According to the opposition party, it has identified several discrepancies in the register which are likely to compromise the integrity of the upcoming polls.
