Voting for President John Mahama again in the 2020 elections is a huge gamble that can backfire into the faces of Ghanaians, a New Patriotic Party Regional Chair has said.

According to him, the 2020 polls is already a done deal for President Nana-Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Ex-president John Mahama will only waste resources as a flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) contesting him.

North East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nurudeen Fuseini disclosed that Ghanaians have seen the worth of both the former President and the current Presidents and he is certain they will not want the return of Mahama.

Addressing party faithful last weekend at Chereponi after the delayed parliamentary primaries were conducted, he expressed optimism in the NPP winning the 2020 polls hands down indicating that Mahama and his administration has nothing new to offer Ghanaians.

“Do not let us gamble the fortunes of country in the hands of someone who almost brought the country on its knees. We have tasted the good, bad and ugly and I am sure we have all come to the conclusion that the presidency of Nana Add Dankwa Akufo-Addo is best when it is about governance”, he said.

He congratulated the aspirants for demonstrating love for the party in the manner the losers graciously pledged to work with the winner to ensure that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) does not retain the Chereponi seat in 2020. According to him, the NPP was going to ensure timely deployment of resources in Chereponi to ensure the party won the seat in the 2020 elections.

The Regional Secretary Sulley Sambian on his part stated that the NPP was poised on delivering the seat to the NPP. He described the NPP as the only party that was genuinely committed to developing Ghana cataloguing a number of developmental projects including the creation of a new region as major achievements that must not be overlooked.

“We must not be swindled by lies and sweet talk to vote for any other than President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who has kept his promises and given us this Region we should be proud of. I know the NDC are going about lying there is nothing to show for the tenure of Akufo-Addo but remember they are only good at propaganda when faced with the reality," he said.
