The Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, on Friday, August 9, 2024, sent the Nsawam township into a frenzy with his surprise presence on the streets campaigning.

Dr. Bawumia, who is continuing his tour of the Eastern Region, visited the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Constituency early Friday morning and was in full swing displaying his energetic meet-and-greet campaign strategy, which has characterised his campaign and endeared him to many at the grassroots.

At the Nsawam market and main lorry station, Dr. Bawumia was cheered on by lively traders and passers-by, who were visibly excited to exchange pleasantries with him.

As word spread around that the Vice President was on the ground, many of the traders, who could not wait for Bawumia to get to their yard, rushed out to mob him, amidst cheering in endorsement of his presidential bid.

Dr. Bawumia himself energetically moved from one trader to the other in the market, and also randomly exchanged pleasantries with many people on the streets, including 'trotro' and taxi drivers.
