Supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) cheered enthusiastically as their parliamentary candidate Faustina Elikplim Akurugu, arrived at the constituency's collation centre.
In a video shared by Channel One TV on Sunday, December 8, 2024, Elikplim, dressed in a white outfit, confidently walked into the centre accompanied by energetic party members who are hopeful for impending victory.
The NDC remains optimistic about its chances in the Dome Kwabenya constituency as the Electoral Commission continues the vote collation process.
Counting and results declaration are currently underway following the closure of polls across most of the polling centres in the country.
The 2024 elections was held across 276 constituencies in the country, with the process being largely peaceful. Pockets of violence have, however, been recorded, with one person confirmed dead in the Tolon Constituency in the Northern Region.
The EC has meanwhile urged Ghanaians and political parties to exercise patience as they execute their mandate of delivering a successful election.
