The Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, received a warm welcome during his visit to Yendi in the Northern Region, as part of the second phase of his nationwide campaign tour ahead of the general elections in December.

Videos available to GhanaWeb show hundreds of Yendi residents gathering enthusiastically to meet and greet the vice president.

The jubilant crowd was adorned in party colours and flying flags, with many spotted in shirts branded with Dr Bawumia’s pictures as they led the convoy of the flagbearer through the town.

Dr Bawumia’s campaign tour began on July 10, 2024, with a visit to the Nayiri’s Palace in Nalerigu, where he sought the blessings of the King of Mamprugu.

Other activities included a tour of the Nalerigu/Gambaga constituency, the Yunyoo constituency and the Bunkpurugu constituency.
