PRESS
RELEASE
WE NEED MAHAMA HARUNA AS BOLE-BAMBOI NPP PARLIAMENTARY CANDIDATE
Recognising the need for a tough, experienced and effective leadership for the New
Patriotic Party (NPP) in Bole-Bamboi in our fight for the 2012 elections, we wish to
call on Mahama to contest as our Parliamentary
candidate for the 2012 elections.
We have painstakingly
evaluated the present state of the NPP in Bole-Bamboi which is the home
constituency of current Vice-President John Dramani Mahama
and are convinced that, under our current circumstances Mahama Haruna
Haruna who is currently a Monitoring and Research officer in the
Communication office at the NPP Headquarters represents the best choice
for the difficult task of snatching the seat from the NDC.
We are
absolutely convinced of the soundness of the choice we are making in
these very difficult times for our party. The times call for a dynamic,
courageous, articulate and principled leadership with the capacity to
tackle and resolve the myriad of problems in the party which are
financial, organisational and electoral. Also in view of the general
perception that the Bole-Bamboi constituency is a stronghold of the NDC,
the NPP need a
resolute, experienced and popular Parliamentary candidate for the 2012
election.
With Mahama Haruna's experience in student politics,
Teaching and Journalism, we are convinced he will be a great asset to
the NPP in Bole-Bamboi. He has over the many years been in the front
line of Bole politics and has demonstrated an extra-ordinary ability to
bring people together. He has never neglected the party in the
constituency and has always continuously shown a clear understanding of
what it takes to move the NPP forward because he believes in teamwork,
leadership through partnership and consensus building. His dedication
and selfless devotion to the course of the NPP, his unflinching loyalty
and commitment to the party, honesty and integrity is well known.
Mahama
Haruna is known to have worked so tirelessly for the NPP in Bole-Bamboi
without recompense. His contribution to the NPP is enormous and
this includes mobilising people to vote for the NPP at all elections
since 1992 as well as motivating and inspiring us the Youth to play
various roles for the NPP. As constituency Secretary for Bole-Bamboi
from
2001 to 2003, he was responsible for the re-organisation and
restructuring of the basic structures of the party and as Election
Affairs Committee member of our constituency in previous elections he
has played a pivotal role in ensuring the electoral process was free and
fair in the Bole-Bamboi constituency.
