The Member of Parliament-Elect for the Gomoa Central Constituency, Kwame Obeng Asare, popularly known as Kwame A Plus, has stated that he is engaging with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) representatives in Parliament.
According to him, the NDC MPs have been in touch with him concerning the possibility of joining their caucus in Parliament, and that the discussions are progressing well.
The MP-elect clarified that despite talks having started with the NDC parliamentary leadership, there has not been confirmation of him joining them, but this will be determined later.
During an interview with TV3, when asked about the possibility of joining the NDC Caucus in Parliament, A Plus responded, “We are talking.”
He further indicated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has not reached out to him to join their members in Parliament after suffering a heavy defeat in the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.
"The NPP as a party has not contacted me. I think they are scared to contact me. They don't know who should come. I used to be a Nana Addo supporter. I think that they know very well that they have not treated me right.
"They've been very ungrateful. But I don't look at things that way. I think that we have to build this country," he added.
A Plus won the Gomoa Central Parliamentary seat in the Central Region.
The musician-turned-politician beat the New Patriotic Party's incumbent MP, Naana Eyiah Quansah, by over 2,000 votes.
A Plus polled a total of 14,277 votes against Naana Eyiah Quansah's 11,637 votes.
