The Banda Traditional Council has expressed its sincere support for Vice President and Flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and the Parliamentary Candidate of the constituency, Joe Dankwa.
Speaking on behalf of the Banda Traditional Council during Dr. Bawumia's campaign visit to Banda on Sunday, the Omanhene, Nana Sekyemme Sinapem II, expressed their endorsement for the duo.
He recounted a number of development projects that the NPP, under the governments of John Agyekum Kufuor and Nana Akufo-Addo, has brought to the constituency.
Nana Sinapem II stated that all major projects in the Banda constituency over the years have been carried out by the NPP.
"If we are here today, we are here wholeheartedly to support you so that our community will see more development," said the Omanhene, who also praised the efforts of the NPP Parliamentary Candidate Joe Dankwa.
Reflecting on the administration of President Kufuor, the Omanhene mentioned several projects the NPP had initiated in the constituency.
"Sometime back, we requested the realisation of the Bui power project, which Kwame Nkrumah had planned but could not execute due to being overthrown. We pursued it through the government at the time, but it did not materialize despite our efforts. Fortunately, President Kufuor came into office and made it happen."
Nana Sinapem II also highlighted other significant projects in the constituency by the NPP, such as the electrification project and the first tarred road accomplished under President Kufuor's administration.
He continued by mentioning that the NPP, under President Akufo-Addo, further expanded the Bui project by incorporating solar energy, as well as constructing roads, durbar grounds, and an astro turf field.
Dr. Bawumia expressed his gratitude to the Traditional Council for their support and promised to work diligently to implement the policies he discussed with them.
He also pledged to be accountable to them and all Ghanaians, as he plans to seek their mandate again in the future "by the grace of God."
