The paramount chief of the Manya Krobo traditional area Nene Sakite II has told President John Mahama that his people will forever vote for the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Nene Sakite II also declared support for the President’s second term bid.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Kpong Water project Tuesday, the Konor said he and his people have decided to support the NDC so that the party can fully implement its ‘better Ghana’ agenda.
“I hope that your stay over here will be fruitful. We here in Manya Krobo care about you so much, we care about your government, we will vote for you all the time,” Nene Sakite pledged.
He also appealed to the President to ensure that development is extended to most parts of the Krobo area.
“As we inaugurate the water works over here, all we ask of you and your government is that you make the water available to adjoining communities here.
The water project was financed by the China Export-Import Bank and the government of Ghana at a cost of $273 million.
It will supply 20 million gallons of potable water per day to many communities including Adenta, Ashaley Botwe and surrounding communities.
Nene Sakite II also tasked the President to fix some roads in the community.
“Our road construction has started but lately we don’t see the contractors anymore and we don’t know what is going on. The state has a lot to do. I would want the contractors to come back and work. Our roads are so bad that the market at Sogotua is completely dead. The market is the major supplier of foodstuffs to the rest of the nation. My prayer is that you will consider the rehabilitation of the road to sogotua,” the chief pleaded.
