Member of Parliament(MP) for Techiman South Constituency, Martin Adjei Mensah-Korsah, has underscored the need for peaceful co-existence among various ethnic groups within the Techiman Municipality.
He observes that this will foster development as it is one of the pre-requisites for accelerated growth in various suburbs within the known marketing centre in Ghana.
“We are one people and we must continue to serve the interest of each other to help us improve our capabilities and the community we found ourselves in”, he urged while addressing guests at the 1st-anniversary celebration of the Techiman Dagaba Youth Association.
He lauded the hard work, dedication, and commitment to the Dagaba community within the Techiman Municipality stating that they have significantly contributed to various sectors, including education, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic development.
“We have a lot of Dagabas in Techiman, I will use this occasion to say that I’m grateful for the great support that I am continuously enjoying from the Dagaba people. Most of the developmental projects that I have and currently undertaking in the constituency are done with the support of my family from the Dagaba community.
“Either it is the construction of roads, boreholes, payment of school fees including many others is been supported by the Dagaba people and I am very grateful for that. I will say that I’m very privileged to serve you and I will continue to do that.” He assured.
The lawmaker who doubles as the Minister for Local Government and Rural Development urged against discrimination of any kind saying “I pray for unity and understanding among us so that we can improve ourselves and the community, we are all created in the image of God and therefore the issue of language should not be a barrier and discrimination of any sort should not be tolerated”
