The Acting National Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Freddie Blay has hinted that the party will have a landslide victory in the upcoming general elections.

According to Mr Blay, the massive endorsement accorded the party’s Flagbearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his running mate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the three northern regions is an indication that majority of Ghanaians are dissatisfied with the performance of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Addressing journalists in Kumasi, the Acting National Chairman of the NPP called on the electorate to vote out incompetent and corrupt NDC government.

‘As you can see am speaking with confidence and exuberance that we are satisfied with what we have done so far, left with 94 days for the elections, and I can assure you the media men who have gathered here that we are ready for the elections, I want this country to appreciate that what is going to happen in the Ashanti region particularly, we are going to have a landslide, and indeed a one touch victory in this country, we are aiming at over 60%,’ he boasted.

He expressed hope that the party will garner over 90% votes in the region to secure victory for the party, because they have oiled their electoral machine in the region.

Mr. Blay said they will face the NDC boot-for-boot to ensure that their arms are not twisted.

He assured that they will respect electoral rules, urging the Electoral Commission (EC) to play its neutral role.

‘I want you to know to let the NDC know that we are prepared to face them boot-for-boot, when I say boot -for boot its nothing except on the battle field of this election, we believe that we are all going to play it fair, there wouldn’t be any hanky-panky, definitely we will respect this country and electoral laws, and do what is expected of us,… I can assure you that we definitely are winning this election, the country is fed up with NDC and incompetent government,’ he stated.

He commended the Ashanti regional office of the party for the massive commitment shown to the party.
