Dr. Hannah Bissiw, the Women's Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has declared that they are ready to 'fight' for power in 2020.

She said the 2020 general elections will be a 'do-or-die' affair for the NDC.

“We know that in 2020 we are entering the field for general election. We have now realized that in 2020 it is going to be very difficult but we have resolved that when they [NPP] bring it on we will match them boot for boot", she said.

She bemoaned the 'shambolic' performance of the Electoral Commission (EC) in the recently held referenda for the creation of new regions.

Dr. Bissiw chided the Electoral Commissioner, Jean Mensa and President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for superintending a poor elections.

“Jean Mensa is a relative of President Akufo-Addo. Both the NPP and the NDC agreed that they were going to create the region so why did they rig? When I went to vote during the referendum, I told the EC officials that they are killing democracy, " she said.

“Akufo-Addo has come to destroy our democracy. We are telling him that we shall strip on the streets to show our disgust over the way they are doing things in the country.”

The former Deputy Minister of Agriculture under the erstwhile NDC administration also said, "Our marriages are collapsing because of bad governance. Drivers are not able to make money, farmers are struggling, cocoa farmers are being cheated, spare parts dealers can’t clear their goods from the ports; the health sector is in disarray."
