Wenchi DCE calls for unity

Wenchi (B/A), Jan. 4, GNA - Madam Ibrahim Bintu Farizana, Wenchi District Chief Executive, has called on the people to eschew negative attitudes that could divide them and forge ahead in unity. She said if they heeded to the advice they would be able to initiate development programmes that would help improve their living conditions.

Speaking to newsmen at Wenchi on Monday she stressed that the district belonged to all the citizens and it was imperative for each person to render selfless service towards its development. Madam Farizana said since every human was fallible, she had opened her doors for advice, suggestions and discussions on issues that would help move the district forward. She advised the people not to hesitate to approach her to offer their views and assistance that would help advance the district's development.

Madam Farizana urged Assembly Members, unit committees and traditional authorities to team up to mobilize the people to initiate self-help development programmes so they could attract support from the government and non-governmental organizations. "Politics is meant to bring development", she said and called on the people not to be divided by partisan politics but rather unite in tackling the diverse problems facing the district. The DCE urged the youth to take their education very serious and have the vision to pursue to attain higher education. Madam Farizana appealed to workers of the various departments to redouble efforts and supports their heads towards increased productivity. She commended the government for initiating projects in the district and urged Ghanaians to place the development of the country above their personal interests.
