Western Region NDC calls for calm in the party

Adieye (W/R) Dec. 7, GNA - The Western Regional branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the weekend called on members to exercise patience and give the President the presence of mind to deliver his development agenda.

A press statement issued by Mr Joseph Kobinah, NDC Regional Secretary at Adieyie in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality, asked members of the party to close their ranks and give President John Evans Atta Mills the maximum co-operation and support.

It said: "We can ill afford the luxury of the destructive and distracting public criticism of the President."

The statement said it was disturbing that some members who are "Washing our dirty linen in public" are key members of the party. It said it was becoming fashionable for people in key positions who have access to channels to seek redress for their problems were using the media to vent their grievances.

The statement appealed to all aggrieved members to hold their fire in the supreme interest of the party, close their ranks and support the President to deliver the "better Ghana" agenda.

It said the President needed the total support of all members to achieve his goal, adding "Let us all in good faith support him". "We in the Western Region have absolute faith and total confidence in the President to deliver."

The release appealed to NDC Council of Elders to take the necessary steps to bring order into the party.
