Kwesi Bonsu also known as Kwesi Bonsu also known as

Kwesi Bonsu also known as ‘Alla Tuba’ and variously referred to as Wenchi’s Chairman Wontumi has emerged as the strongest candidate to win the New Patriotic Party’s constituency elections to be held on Saturday.

‘Alla Tuba’ who began the campaign as the dark horse has been able to win many of the candidates over with his charisma and bullish attitude towards politics.

“When I started, everyone thought I was going to be just in the race to add to the numbers. But I have a vision. And the vision is to build one of the strongest constituencies for the New Patriotic Party in Ghana. The delegates have listened to my vision and have seen that I am the best bet for the future of the NPP in Wenchi”.

Kwesi Bonsu is contesting incumbent chairman Yaw Gyan and former constituency chairman of the party, Kwame Aidoo. Being a fresh face in the race has come with both its advantages and challenges.

“I am the youngest of the three contestants. I have been able to capture the youth because I understand them and we share the vision that NPP must be great again in Wenchi. The electorate knows Yaw Gyan and they have seen what he has done. They also know Kwame Aidoo and they saw what he did for the last sixteen years. My message of a charting a new direction for the NPP in Wenchi has been well received and under my chairmanship everybody will see how Wenchi will rise again in this our great Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition.

Meanwhile incumbent organizer of the party Karim Moro is also set to lose his position after sixteen years of being in the thickets of the job. A younger stalwart in Kwasi Oduro has stepped up in the campaign is the likeliest winner.

It appears Wenchi, the hometown Ghana’s first Prime Minister, Dr. Kofi Abrefa Busia will witness a much changed executive with Shadrach Abrefa Manu also set to become the constituency youth organizer.

“We are aware of the work ahead of us. Wenchi is a very influential constituency in the annals of the NPP and must remain as such. My responsibility when I become Youth Organiser will be to galvanize the young people of Wenchi to vote massively for the party come 2020 elections and the job begins now,” Shadrach Abrefa Manu concluded.
