You have no balls to become president – Ofosu Ampofo blasts Bawumia over running mate delay

Samuel Ofosu Ampofo

Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, a former chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has criticized Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s bid to lead the country.

According to Ampofo, Bawumia lacks independence and will be controlled if elected as President.

He argued that Bawumia's failure to announce his running mate in a timely manner is indicative of his inability to lead.

"Dr. Bawumia has no principle and has no balls. As we speak today, he can't even name his running mate," he said.

Speaking in an interview on Onua TV on June 24, 2024, he asserted that Bawumia, who is also the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), was expected to present a running mate in December after being elected as the party's flagbearer. However, he requested an extension of one month to make his decision but he is still unable to make a choice which according to him makes him unfit to lead.

"We cannot entrust this country into the hands of somebody who cannot even name his running mate. It is late; he is late in the day. Even if he names the person tomorrow, he is late in the day.

“He has shown to all Ghanaians that he is not in charge, if we vote and make Bawumia the President, some people will control him; he will not control himself. He is not a man of his own,” he added.
