Your running and lying mouth will land you in big trouble - Sammy Gyamfi cautioned

National Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has been advised to slow down on his public his disrespectful utterances towards leaders of opposing political parties as this could spark his end after being slapped last week at the studios of Asempa Fm in Accra.

Mr Benjamin Acheampong Akowuah who is a member of NPP’s National Communications team, also sounded a strong warning to Sammy Gyamfi to desist from his alleged provocative and repulsive public pronouncements, else, he could be digging his own grave.

It would be recalled that National Youth Organiser of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye last week subjected Sammy Gyamfi to hefty slaps during a live radio discussion over heated arguments over the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election.

Reports claim Sammy Gyamfi described the NPP National officer as “stupid” and “foolish”, a description Nana B did not feel comfortable with, hence, his unacceptable action.

According to Benjamin Akowuah, the NPP youth wing is watching Sammy Gyamfi closely, and if he does not change from his utterances, he is digging his own grave, because they in New patriotic Party know the competency of their leaders and their services to the country and will do everything legally possible to protect their images.

“For a young guy of his caliber to go insulting everybody, calling the president a murderer, and all this staff is highly unfortunate. We are preparing for an election, I don’t want to believe, that is the tangent he wants to go, because we have the people of Ghana to protect. We have the president to protect. If he is going to continue on this tangent, then some of us have no option than to also defend the integrity of our party, defend the status of our president, and the good people of Ghana any possible way, legal way.”

“But let me sign a note of caution that for what he is doing, he is digging his own grave, and the earlier he takes caution of his utterances, the better it will be for him…we in the NPP are watching him closely ” he warned.

Mr Benjamin Akowuah in an exclusive interview with MyNewsGh.com’s Divine Mensah Vadze giving details of what he meant by Sammy Gyamfi digging his own grave and will fall in, should he ignore the caution.

A few hours after the attack on Sammy, the NDC youth wing held a press conference, calling on the Ghana police service to arrest Nana B within 24-hours. Nana B later issued a statement expressing regret for his actions, but described Mr. Gyamfi’s conduct as provocative.

“Regardless of the repulsive, provocative conduct by the NDC’s National Communications Director on the show which included unacceptable verbal attacks on the President and myself, I am, upon sober reflection, apologising to listeners of Asempa FM and Ghanaians for the manner in which I responded.”

“I will also encourage my junior brother, Sammy Gyamfi, to be decorous and respectful in his public utterances during such engagements and to, at all times, respect the high office of the President,” he added.

Though Mr Benjamin Acheampong Akowuah condemned the attack on NDC communication director and described it as not justifiable, he lauds the NPP Youth organizer for apologizing for his action and also demands same from Sammy Gyamfi to the president and Ghanaians.

“So we are expecting him [Sammy Gyamfi] to act responsibly as Nana B has done, and also apologize to the good people of Ghana, to the president, and to his senior brother, Nana B, or as I said, he is digging his own grave”.
