  They overthrew the progressive government of Dr Nkrumah and managed to convince the whole country that it was the Americans that were responsible.
  
  They enable Dr Busia to use his appointment as director of Civic Education to campaign for the 1969 elections. When that was not seen capable of delivering their wish, they rigged the 1969 elections.
