Accra Mall, Accra’s premier shopping destination is excited to announce the launch of Season 6 Accra Mall Fashion Fund, a three-month-long project aimed at discovering and nurturing the next generation of fashion design talents in Ghana.
The initiative will culminate in the highly anticipated Accra Mall Fashion Weekend on the 16th of November, 2024 where both emerging designers and fashion retailers including LC Waikiki, MrP, Woodin, Charles Tyrwhitt, Pandora, Celio and Kiki Clothing from Accra Mall will take center stage.
The Accra Mall Fashion Fund will challenge participants through a series of fashion-focused competitions designed to equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in the fashion retail industry.
From blending styles to creating immersive retail experiences and pitching their fashion brands as businesses, participants will be trained by industry veterans on various aspects of fashion design and retail.

Empowerment Summit – The First Step
Kicking off the project will be the Empowerment Summit on the 1st of October, a workshop that brings together aspiring designers and fashion enthusiasts. Attendees will be guided by a panel of experienced judges, including:
1. Oheneba Nana Yaw Boamah, fashion designer and creative lead at Abrantie The Gentleman
2. Agnes Odamea Larbi, head of the fashion department at BlueCrest Fashion School
3. Delali Bentsi-Enchill, fashion educator with a wealth of experience working with brands like Vlisco and Woodin
The summit will offer invaluable insights into the fashion industry, with judges sharing their expertise on how to succeed in the competitive fashion landscape. At the conclusion of the workshop, the first set of participants will be selected and briefed on the journey ahead.
Fashion Fund Competition: The Challenges
Throughout the competition, participants will face challenges that reflect real-world fashion industry scenarios, including:
1. Fashion Fusion – Participants will combine styles from up to three Accra Mall fashion retailers, showcasing their ability to mix and match pieces for a cohesive look.
2. Pop-Up Shop Planning – Contestants will design a pop-up shop experience for a retailer, focusing on creating an immersive environment that boosts sales and brand visibility.
3. Fashion Brand Pitch – Participants will pitch their fashion brands to a panel of investors and industry experts, demonstrating their entrepreneurial vision and business potential.
4. Final Showcase – The top five contestants will present a collection of six outfits at the Accra Mall Fashion Weekend, with a theme-inspired collection as their final task.
Masterclasses and Mentorship
Finalists will have access to exclusive masterclasses hosted by seasoned fashion professionals, including:
1. Joey Darko, fashion designer, stylist, and consultant for the Ghanaian fashion brand JOEY
2. Eny Kludjeson, professional stylist and content creator
These masterclasses will cover essential topics such as business planning, brand development, retail strategies, and ethical practices, providing participants with the tools they need to succeed beyond the competition.
The Grand Finale: Accra Mall Fashion Weekend
The competition will culminate in the Accra Mall Fashion Weekend on the 16th of November, a grand fashion showcase featuring the final collections of the top five contestants alongside designs from Accra Mall’s fashion retailers.
The event promises to be an exciting celebration of Ghanaian fashion, with judges on hand to score the finalists and announce the winners.
