EMY Africa Awards has announced the call for nominations ahead of the 2023 edition of the annual event.

EMY Africa has announced the call for nominations for the 8th edition of the EMY Africa Awards on the 17th of April 2023. The EMY Africa Awards celebrates distinguished gentlemen making an impact in their diverse fields. It also has complementary awards for women.

The prestigious award event has in the past honored outstanding personalities across Africa in various fields such as media, journalism, business, technology, sports, and health. Some of the past EMY Africa Awards winners include Tony Elumelo, Togbe Afede XIV, His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, Sir Sam Jonah, Abedi Pele, Azumah Nelson, Freddy Meiwey, Marufatu Abiola Bawuah, Patricia Obo-Nai, Dr. Daniel McKorley, Prof. Elsie Effah Kuffmann, Dr. Akinwumi A. Adesina to name a few. At last year’s ceremony, famed Ghanaian businessman Ibrahim Mahama won the Man of the Year award.

This year’s awards feature categories, such as – Man of the Year, Asclepian Award, Humanitarian Award, Young Achiever (Male & Female) Award, Lifetime Achievement Award, Diasporan Award, Continental Icon Awards, Man of the Year – Technology, Woman of the Year, The Guardian Award, and the Green Fingers Award. Other competitive categories include Man of the Year – Music, Discovery of the Year, Actor of the Year, and Designer of the Year.
