In Ghana, traders from northern Nigeria brought perfumes known as "Tulaare," which means perfume in Hausa. However, locals misheard it as "Tulaale," linking it to lower quality products because of how these traders presented them.

To change this negative perception, expert perfumer Yusif Meizongo Jnr, who has Hausa roots, decided to redefine the meaning of "Tulaale." He introduced a new line of Floral Woody fragrances under the name "Tulaale," with the goal of reshaping people's perception towards a more positive and elegant understanding of the term.

Yusif delved deep into creating these floral and woody scents to alter the narrative associated with the name "Tulaale." When the team of 16 members experienced the completed fragrances, they were not just impressed by the quality but also by Yusif's endless creativity. Each time they thought he had reached his peak, he surprised them with something new and innovative.

Yusif's skills in perfumery have been a true gift to Africa, showcasing the continent's talent and creativity in scent-making. Kofi Asamoah, the founder of Kofas Media, exclaimed after smelling "Tulaale" that “Yusif Meizongo is indeed the best perfume maker in Africa.”
