mPawa, founded in Ghana in August 2012, seeks to be the link between employers and blue collar workers. On the worker side, mPawa gives job seekers the chance to register and start receiving relevant jobs via SMS.
Currently mPawa have 12 companies signed up on the recruiter side. Nathalie Ocran-Edmund (Administrative Manager – JVC Limited) says, "As a company working in the construction industry, JVC Limited has been a fervent supporter of mPawa since its genesis. By identifying the challenges that companies face in the recruitment of blue collar workers, mPawa has been able to offer a first class, easy to handle service at our doorstep. We believe that with the advent of information technology, online services such as mPawa will become reference-working tools for the economic sector in Africa".
Mr. Winston a blue-collar worker who signed up only a month ago and has already been hired, comments, "With mPawa registration is quick and easy".
mPawa is an innovative solution that is solving a problem typically seen in the African employment lifecycle as well as other parts of the world. Maxwell Donkor, CEO, says "We are creating an ecosystem where we connect highly skilled blue collar workers with relevant jobs and employers with qualified candidates. For the first time ever in Africa, blue-collar workers can have a documented CV with track record of past working experience".
