18,000.00 Ghana cedi water facility for college

The Rural Water Development programme (RWDP) of the Church of Christ (COC) is providing the Saint Vincent College of Education in Yendi with a borehole and transmission pipes at the total cost of GHC18,000.00.

The facility together with another one which was provided last year through the intervention of the Regent of Dagbon Kampakuya Na Yakubu Abdulai Andani, has the combined capacity to produce 12,000 gallons of water daily.

The provision of the two water supply facilities would help provide the water needs of the 177 students and staff of the College as well as nearby Gumani community which are yet to be connected to the Yendi Ghana Water Company's water system.

Mr. Nathaniel Adams Jnr. the Project Director of RWDP made this known this during the inauguration and dedication of the college, put the cost of the 6,000 gallon capacity bole-hole provided through the assistance of Ya-na at GHC9, 000.00.

He said the RWDP also provided two mechanized water facilities last year at the cost 29,000 dollars, which supplies over 94,000 gallons of potable water a day for the people of Yendi and environs.

He announced that the RWDP had plans to drill more boreholes in the Municipality to help solve the perennial water problems in the area.

Mr. Adams Jnr. who is also the Proprietor of 7As College of Science and Technology donated GHC2,000.00 to support the St. Vincent College of Education in the purchase of its it’s kitchen equipment, Library books and furniture.
