Accra, Oct 27, GNA - Twenty-five doctors from United State of America (USA) are expected in the country by February next year to provide free medical care to the people of Adukrom in the Eastern Region.
The doctors will also educate the people on the prevention of HIV/AIDS as well as embark on research projects on other diseases such as malaria and typhoid fever.
Mr. Donnel Craig, an African-American and Executive Director of Global Hand Foundation, a newly registered Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) who has been appointed as the goodwill ambassador of Adukrom, disclosed this to GNA in an interview on Monday.
Mr. Craig, who was appointed by Nana Yaayaa Asantewa I, Krontihemaa of Adukrom said his mission was to help the people of the area. Mr Craig said as a first step, the Foundation would build a girls' dormitory for Nifa Secondary School and a community library for the people.
He said there were a number of organisations in the US who he would link up with on his return to the later in the year to undertake additional development projects in the area.
According to him, the investment climate is very conducive for business and that he would consider investing in the hotel industry. Nana Yaayaa Asantewaaa I, expressed appreciation to Mr Craig for his interest in Adukrom and other parts of the country and hoped that all the projects lined up would be implemented.
