85 receive relief items

Nsawam, Oct. 14, GNA - About 85 people who were rendered homeless following a severe rainstorm which swept through two communities near Nsawam in the Akuapem South District few months ago, have received relief items. The beneficiary communities which are Pokrom Nsabaah and Nsumiah recieved 12 packets of roofing sheets, eight bags of rice and four bales of used clothing.

Presenting the items, Dr. Godfred Osei Bonsu-Twum, the Municipal Chief Executive, said the NDC government will mitigate the consequences of disasters whether natural or man made to keep Ghanaians focused on the development of the country.

Receiving the items on behalf of the two communities, Nana Aboah Ansah, Unit committee chairman of Pokrom-Nsabaah who received the items on behave of the two communities, thanked the MCE and promised that the items would be put good use.

Mr. Kwabena Asante, the Acting NADMO Municipal Coordinator, thanked the head office of the NADMO for responding to their distress call on behalf of the rainstorm victims after the disaster occurred and appealed to beneficiaries to put the item to good use.
