A 70-million-cedi library block inaugurated in Kumasi

Kumasi, July 2, GNA- A 70-million-cedi library block stocked with books for the North Suntreso Saint Paul's Anglican International School was inaugurated in Kumasi on Friday. Mrs Dag Toglou, a British Philanthropist financed the project through Miss Susanna Edmunds, a British volunteer teacher of the school.

Miss Edmunds has also donated 1,500 books and 10 million cedis to the school towards the maintenance of the facility. Dr (Mrs) Charlotte Abaka, the United Nations Representative for Liberia, noted that education formed the foundation for the development of every nation and called on individuals and organisations to contribute to the development of the sector.

The Right-Reverend Daniel Yinkah Sarfo, Anglican Bishop of Kumasi, commended Mrs Toglou and Miss Edmunds for their contribution to the improvement of education in the area. He appealed to the pupils and the youth to make judicious use of the library towards the development of education in the area. Baffour Asare Owusu Amankwatia V, Bantamahene, appealed to the pupils to be decent and disciplined and concentrate on their studies to enable them achieve their objectives in life.
