Tema, Jan. 20, GNA - The seat for Tema West Constituency is going to be keenly contested for in the forthcoming elections, as a Tema-based woman, a retired educationist has declared her intentions to contest and wrest the seat from Lawyer Abraham Ossei Aidoo, the sitting MP. Madam Ayele Bonnie Ajavon, who is currently the manageress of "Kasebon Mode Limited" dealers in textiles and fashion designers clothes made her intentions known at a NPP constituency meeting on Sunday. She received loud applause from all the members when she was introduced by Mr Francis Tuyee, a leading member of the party.
The members came from BBC, Lashibi, Sakumono, Community Five, J Conty, Italians flats and Otanor forming the constituency.
Madam Ajavon called for the support of the constituents to win massively and promised not to neglect them when voted into power adding, "when you help me to win I will not turn against you, rather with your support I would organise the unemployed to train in various vocations to acquire skills to be self- sufficient".
During an open forum, the members who took turns to air their views criticised Mr Aidoo for not visiting them at the electoral areas, "the MP nor his executive members have not held a single meeting to know our problems since the last elections".
Others, mostly from Lashibi also complained that, "we have not set eyes on the MP since we voted for him".
