AESDA to construct Centres to promote social activities

Senya Beraku (C/R), Jan 18, GNA - The Awutu-Effutu-Senya District Assembly (AESDA) is proposed to construct community centres in the three traditional areas in the District to promote social activities. The Acting District Chief Executive, Captain Steve Kwamena Armah told the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Senya Beraku that contact was being made with investors to undertake the projects.

He said that the Assembly improved its record in the provision of development projects with the construction of school buildings, markets and roads and the provision of toilet and other facilities.

The DCE denied an accusation by the Bawjiase Citizens Union in Takoradi that the Assembly had neglected the Bawjiase market but said that it was considering re-locating the market to make room for future expansion.

Captain Armah said that Bawjiase area had had its fair share of the Assembly's projects in the form of schools buildings, toilet facilities and the poverty alleviation funds.
